We interrupt this countdown – with just 24 days to go – to announce that Nigel (of AES in Stratford upon Avon) has unleashed Robbie the Robot and he has gone berserk again cutting panels to make a small track. And then Nigel said he needs it all finished by Sunday in order to video it in action, together with images of Robbie cutting! Well it was always part of the plan to make a small track as well, the kind of thing someone could have at home – er, for the children to play with! (?) – but to need to finish it in 5 days was a bit of a surprise! And it does mean that we have been taken away from the main Festival project for a day or two. Anyway, we have been applying ourselves and – with Calum of AES’s help – this is where we have got to so far. (Sorry the picture is not great. The light is tricky where we are building it.)
We hope to finish tomorrow and get back to work on the main project. But we hope you will be able to see this as well as our main project at the UK Slot Festival at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon in Warwickshire on 14 and 15 May.
