Whether you use plastic track from Scalextric, SCX, Ninco or one of the other manufacturers or have launched into making your own track from routed wood, our aim is to help you to make more realistic-looking circuits and to increase the pleasure of racing on them.
The cars look absolutely fantastic these days and the racing can be even more realistic with Digital systems that allow lane-changing, overtaking and blocking, etc. So don't let the look of the circuit let the whole experience down!
We can offer you tyre walls, safety fencing, signs and boards of various kinds, spectator embankments, etc. etc. We have fixing clips for plastic track or for use with wooden tracks or baseboards. Scroll down for a list of all the accessories for slot car tracks which we are currently producing (or looking to produce) or click any item on the Menu on the left for more information and more pictures on how our products can improve the look of your circuit quickly and easily.
For prices click on the individual items on the left menu or follow the 'Read more' links after each item. (All prices include VAT so non-EU customers pay 17.5% less.)
We are always looking to expand and improve our range so if there are other things you would be interested in please let us know. You can e-mail us at david@slottrackscenics.co.uk

For some time people have been asking us for some of the small items you see around circuits or on road racing streets. Here are the first items in a new range of these small accessories.
| The first is cones. Moulded in fluorescent orange, all you have to do is paint in between two indentations to give them their finished appearance. They cost £2.95 for 10 and the order code is Acc. 1 |
Cones marking a pit lane entry. |
| We also have a mixed pack of cones and oil cans. This costs £3.95 for 10 cones and 5 cans and the order code is Acc. 2. |
Cones and cans marking a bend |
| Oil cans on their own cost just £1.25 for 5 and are Acc. 3. They are small cans rather than the larger drums but we hope to produce those in due course if enough people would like them. |

If you go to a race or just watch on TV you can't miss the advert boards. Along the side of the track - at ground level or above armco or tyre wall, projecting across the track on panels supported by stanchions, or simply placed on the grass areas beside the track. We can provide all of these.
Recently we realised that for some of our customers the ready made Advert Boards that we have been selling up to now are just not quite the right height or just don't fit where they want them to go. So we have decided that with our AB1s, AB2s and AB4s it will be more helpful if we sell you the Boards and the stanchions separately, allowing you to position them and just glue them together with a bit of superglue. Then simply trim off any stanchion you don't need.
Customer comment : thanks for sending the items, they are are all great for adding atmosphere to the tracks, i'll definately want some more fences and ab4,s and ab1, s soon, Howie, Cardiff

Borders, gravel traps and run-off zones |
|
Real desire to produce these but tooling up will be expensive. Initial market research suggests that people would like something a bit more realistic but we need to know there is a market out there. (Price would be a little more than those from the ‘big boys' but for a superior product. Please, please, therefore, let us know if you are interested.

Brake Point markers (BP 1) These signs give racing drivers help in finding their braking points by indicating how far it is to the next corner. Sometimes they may count down 300, 200 100; sometimes it may be 150, 50. You can now add these to your circuit. (You never know, if you are in the habit of going off at certain corners this may be the answer to your problems!)

Some circuits (e.g. Silverstone, Thruxton, etc.) have marker boards to indicate what type of corner the next turning will be. These can also add an extra dimension to your circuit when placed on a border at the approach to a bend.
Owing to further investment in injection moulding we have been able to iimprove the look of these and eliminate all the labour in putting them together. This means we have cut the price by over 50%! See below and watch out for new pictures coming.

We now have two types of clip. Our original clever little clips are made for use with plastic track. They are designed by us and manufactured to provide extra versatility, allowing you to clip two or even three things on in the same place. This is partly because they are reversible and partly because they have two quite different fixings. One of these is like a square tube and the other is a flatter hole which will accept Scalextric Armco either way round. (They are compatible with Scalextric Sport and Classic, Ninco, and SCX. (They are rather loose on Carrera and SCX Digital which have a different edge profile.) We sell these at 25p each or 10 for £2.45.
Reversible clip for use with plastic track With these you can have Armco and safety fencing; or tyre walls and safety fencing; or even two rows of tyres and safety fencing fixed around the edges of your track or its borders.
The clips also enable the Distance to Corner markers and Advertising boards to be attached to the edge of the track, behind Armco, in front of fencing or within a tyre wall.
(And if you just want to hold one thing in place and don't want the rest of the clip showing they can be cut in two with a fine hobby saw.)
The second type of clip is to allow you to use our products with routed wood tracks or wooden boards either side of your plastic track. These have the same type of square tube as the others but with a simple round peg on the bottom. All you do is drill a hole, push in the peg and you can fix any of our stanchions in them for fencing, brake point markers, etc and they will allow you to set tyre wall over them and be held in place by them. These sell in packs of 10 for £1.95.

Nothing brings a track to life more than the presence of people around it. Pit crews, marshalls and, above all, spectators give life to the appearance of the circuit and add a degree of realism which can transform the look of it.
We have just launched the first in a range of figures produced exclusively by us. Click on Read more to see them.
We are also able to supply a small range of Preiser figures in 1/32 scale. Painted or unpainted, these are high quality models.

Yellow flags at the hairpin If you watched the Australian Grand Prix this year you can not have failed to notice the amount of safety fencing around the circuit. Australia is not alone in this although, as a ‘street' circuit, it is particularly noticeable there. We have therefore made some Safety Fencing to allow you to reproduce this effect on your own circuits.
And because we know many of you enjoy doing it yourself we have produced it in kit form so that you can tailor it to your own circuit and needs. There are two types matching the two types of fencing around circuits.
The Fence Kit 1 (FK 1) is for Fencing with angled stanchions and wires through the top as pictures above.
The Fence Kit 2 (FK 2) is for fencing with straight stanchions and no wires at the top. See the pictures below.
FK 2 fencing round a corner
Both kits have 10 stanchions and 1.75 metres of plastic mesh, together with instructions for painting and assembly.
At a price of only £6.95 they are great value.

Flock and cork together on this Module
We are now planning to make the kind of materials we use for our Dioramas and modules available to you so that along with our pictures and suggestions we can provide you with all the materials you need.
Initially these are:
Cork granules for 'gravel' traps. A 30g bag costs just £2.45.
|
 Cork as gravel |
| Gaugemaster Loose flock for grass effect - this is Spring or Summer Grass colour but Autumn colour also be obtained. This comes as a 30g bag for £2.45. Here you see it laid on an earth brown base. (It actually can make it look more authentic if a little of the brown shows through.) |
 Flock as grass |
Gaugemaster Flock Mat - again Summer Grass. This comes in rolls of 100 cms x 75 cms (Just under 3'4" x 2' 6") for £5.95 per roll. So they overlap a 3' x 2' panel enough to allow you to staple it on. (You could also glue it down.) Several of these panels together can make a really good base for a semi-permanent or temporary track if you haven't got space for a pemanent one. When not in use they can just stack up in a corner.
|
Plywood panels with flock mat stapled on. |
We have now added to this range to include a range of scenic scatters, some trees and even some materials for making trees. We will update the site with deatils after the Loughborough Swapmeet on Sunday. (There are all sorts of other scatters including gravel for paths and gravel mat for pit or car park areas. Let us know what you are interested in.)
The cork and loose scatter materials are really easy to use!
All you need to do is to paint the base-board a suitable matt earth brown colour. Then once it is dry brush on some PVA glue and scatter the cork or flock generously on to it. Press it down. Shake or brush off the excess. (The cork will probably need a second coat in places.) Finally, to make it stay in place, spray it over with a mix of PVA glue and water.
